Sébastien is an alumni of the Sorbonne, and in parallel to his indie photography work at the time, he managed to reach the “Maitrise” year (only 10% of the freshman managed to get there, during his pool), which requires the proposal and writing of a 100 pages length thesis.
Available upon request through the Contact Me page, his thesis in French, entitled “Mythical Precognitions in the Cinema of Hayao Miyazaki”, is probably one of the first thesis on this subject, accepted, and written within the French University system of the Sorbonne, a prestigious, and ancestral landmark within international scholars and researchers. Charles Tesson, former editor for Les Cahiers du Cinéma, was Sébastien’s Maitrise supervisor.
