Mini Aerial Series
Airscape
Sébastien has always been fascinated by aircrafts, and wanted to be a jet pilot when he was little. He even “piloted” a commercial Boeing 747 when he was about 8 years old, traveling between Los Angeles to Paris. It took him a while to get back to this original passion. Drone operating definitely has been a bridge using two of his original obsessions: photography and aircrafts.
Below is a passion project entitled Airscape — a mini aerial series, depicting timeless locations Sébastien found a graphical and poetic quality.
Episode 01
Tongva
Pasadena, California
Tongva takes flight over Pasadena, California. Pasadena was one of the first places in LA that reminded me of Europe (where I am from). Probably because of the smaller roads, the older architecture, the lush areas.
Pasadena has kept the sense of a place that belonged to a time, and a population that was once.

Episode 02
Paayme Paxaayt
Los Angeles River
Amidst the urban chaos of Los Angeles, the river emerges as an unexpected oasis. It reminds me of
the enigmatic charm of Paris' Petite Ceinture. A concealed jewel nestled within the heart of the
bustling cityscape — a forgotten reverie that whispers of a time when nature held sway, and fed the
tribes.
"Paayme Paxaayt" was the name given to the LA river by the Tongva people (indigenous of
California) at the time.
Just as a hidden memory preserved in the folds of time, the Los Angeles River stands as a treasured reminder that the enduring spirit of nature perseveres within the ceaseless march of modernity.
Music · Michael Stearns — Opening Nepal (From Baraka's Soundtrack)
Episode 03
Silent Sentinel
Nike Missile Sites, Los Angeles
In the era of the Cold War's chill, valiant sentinels emerged, embracing America from potential
nuclear tempests. Newly born, they cradled Nike Missiles, marvels of innovation.
Atop a mountain's summit, where the earth touches the sky, it stands a sentinel yearning to be
unearthed by the intrepid seeker. Hidden by trees and winding paths, a choreography of secrecy
unfolds.
Despite its years of inactivity, it resembles the dormant emotions one holds for a lover — hidden, solitary — awaiting discovery by the willing soul.
Music · Joe Hisaishi — "Summer"
